From Zero to Ten Years: A Success Story for All Involved

Being able to accompany a medium-sized company over a long period and support its growth is, of course, the ideal case of a customer relationship for us: building something long-term and repeatedly convincing with our own performance is simply a joy. Read here how a first recommendation has developed into a 10-year customer relationship.

How It All Began When we were able to present our IT solutions to the company in 2014 based on a recommendation, it was not yet about a long-term business relationship. Instead, it was about solving urgent challenges in the short term.

The company from the communications industry had been earning its money for around 20 years by analyzing media content and its use. The IT solutions for payroll and billing processes could no longer keep up with the company’s growth. Therefore, the existing ERP solution with DATEV connection was to be switched to a future-proof and scalable SAGE solution. However, this project was stuck. We were able to help quickly and introduce a contemporary solution for payroll and accounting with our structured approach and thoughtful project management.

We were also allowed to implement modules for inventory management and document management. To this day, the core task in administration is to write monthly invoices to customers for the services provided. The customers include the who’s who of the German economy: a large part of the DAX companies, as well as institutions like the EU Commission. On the customer side, it is expected that the entire process, from the first order to the final invoice, runs highly professionally, error-free, and digitally.

Convincing Through Performance. Day by Day, Year by Year.

The best way to convince customers is through performance. The trust in our solutions and working methods has led to us being repeatedly commissioned by the company over the years. Our customer expanded their business fields with various foreign branches. Here, we ensured that international accounting, including foreign currency, as well as the entire group accounting, functioned smoothly.

With the increasing commissioning of external workers, it became increasingly important to include variable costs in the accounting. Today, the hours of project workers and contracted service providers are recorded via a web entry portal and directly linked to the accounting.

Business Intelligence – Also Internally

The company is now not only a leader in AI-supported data analysis of media for its clients but also strong in internal data analysis. For this, the business intelligence tool “Tableau” is used, which we were able to assist in implementing.

With Tableau, cost center/cost unit accounting can now be created at the project level, with a variety of analysis options. The HR department is connected to this business intelligence solution via a SAGE conversion tool installed by us.

We programmed a rebooking logic for this, which automatically generates and imports an accounting booking file. With this element of “intelligent costing,” our customer can allocate their personnel expenses in detail to individual orders and projects.

From Daily Operations to COVID-19: Support for All IT Challenges

Over the years, our tasks have become increasingly complex and demanding. At the same time, we take care of the small and larger IT challenges in day-to-day business as part of the support agreement.

We are there for our customer as they wish and as the project requires: sometimes we are consultants, sometimes designers, sometimes implementers. Sometimes all at once. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we advised the HR department on how the company could manage short-time work in payroll and accounting. We also implemented a suitable tool and trained the accounting staff.

We are now entering the tenth year of this successful customer relationship for both sides and are excited to see what upcoming challenges we can help the company with.
